COSTUME: Handmade
There is a Hulk under there... somewhere. But before even getting to the skin, I had to make Ch'od bigger; extending his arms and legs as I'd done with Colossus. Then came the skin; over three packets worth of milliput of it! Worked on him a limb at a time - allowing the milliput to semi-cure before etching in the skin detail and molding on the bumps. Cocktail sticks were also pushed into the milliput to act as spines for his fins...
... they worked exceptionally well, and by the time I was sculpting the head I was constantly being spiked by the ruddy things! The fins themselves were just thin slices of milliput sculpted on. I'd pondered using various other materials, but decided that the two-part epoxy putty would probably be the easiest... and the most resiliant stuff to use.
Once sculpted (and the head resculpted, the one I copied from the Starjammer mini-series didn't match the artwork in the rest of the Starjammer's appearences!), painted and clothed (at least that last part was easy) just had to make his little pet, Cr+eee - essentially just some pipecleaners with a white velvet covering and ears, white florist's wire for his legs and beads for the eyes.
