JACK of HEARTS |
Base; Vision head, M1 body (w/flesh coloured hands)
Oh boy.
Actually, while the costume was
pretty intricate, it wasn't that
complicated... and not much more
sewing than any of my other customs.
Jack wears a navy blue lycra
2-piece body suit and a pair of PVC boots
(made using a pattern taken from
DD's left glove). The dangling loin cloth
thing (can't remember the
technical term) is a piece of white lycra
coloured with fabric pens. The
cuffs are PVC again, with a painted
pattern.
And then there's the body armour.
This 8 separate pieces of PVC and vinyl
and two bits of yellow lycra.
Before assembly the PVC and vinyl (the
thicker vinyl being used for his
orange shoulder sections and belt) were
painted, detail added with a fine
black marker and then coated with a
satin varnish (not matter how
permanent the marker might boast its ink is,
it's reckoning without the shiny
surface of PVC). Once dry the whole thing
was assembled on the Jack figure
using double sided adhesive - far, far,
far easier and less fraught that
gluing and/or sewing.
His pouch is a couple of pieces of
craft foam covered in vinyl.
