MAYA |

Base; Spiderwoman
Had to re-root a little bit of her hair, and then Spiderwoman required a fair bit of repainting to add Maya's distinctive make-up (and to try to make the FC eyes less slanted). Hairstyling was, erm, 'fun' too - reckon it turned out better here than on my 12" version. Found the hair a little coarse to work with at first, but after a soak in a mix of 1 part fabric conditioner to 3 parts water, it became softer.
The costume was probably my most fiddly one yet - the top requiring a separate red-arm (first time I've done that (successfully) in 9") plus the red trimming (and the gold 'zip' in the red). And, of course, what do I do after spending a good hour or two on that? Yup, I go and paint that red/white LSRO badge on the wrong side of the trim. B*gger. But I got lucky and managed to remove it without leaving a mark; used sellotape - small piece over the badge, rub hard, remove... and off comes a lot of the paint too. Repeat 3 or 4 more times. Then used nail-polish remover to loosen up the rest of the acrylic paint and more sellotape to remove it.
Her ID photo is a very very small printout of Catherine Schell, the belt is a length of white vinyl, painted and with 4 little, long beads as detailing. No comlock or stun-gun yet... the actual ones Mattel made for their Space 1999 figures are too big and too small so I'll have to make something up myself sometime. Also got Mattel's Koenig, Russell and Bergman to customise up onto FC bodies with new costumes... but after Maya's I think I need a break from Moonbase Alpha!
