NOTES: Had this head spare and a Mystique custom planned for ages (she was the donor for Batgirl's hair way back when). Struggled to find suitably sized
skulls... until I found out Games Workshop sold parts from the Citadel Miniatures boxed sets. Bought a plastic sprue of skeleton warriors - there's a perfect skull on there to take a mould from - and cast myself a set of stone-powder skulls (if you use
plasticine/modelling clay remember to freeze/chill it before adding the plaster otherwise the exothermic reaction during setting might 'melt' away some of the mould's detail). Setting a nice bone-colour these were then drybrushed with white and thin
washes of tan and (in the eye sockets) black.
Her belt's central skull is from a sprue of the skeleton warrior's shields - also some perfect skulls on there for Spawn customs and there are several other useful pieces on the Skeleton Warrior sprue
itself - more skulls - inc. a rat-like one - and assorted spikey bits.
The outfit, gloves and boots are made from white PVC... and for those of you who don't like sewing, none was required! Double-sided adhesive and a spot of superglue was all
that was necessary.
Her hand is gripping a Spawn 4 gun with milliput fingers (slight metling accident on a previous custom... setting super-sculpey in boiling water and not keeping an eye on trailing limbs! D'oh!)
There are also a couple of
bits of milliput in evidence too... these are there to distract attention from the inevitable paint rubs around her shoulders. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
