THANOS

Base; Hulk

Other Parts Required; Elite Brigade German Jackboots (rubber), Thor boots

Thanos is one who's been on my to-do list for a very long time. I'd been saving my last Hulk especially for him. He went together in a rather backward fashion; I made a frame work for his collar piece from bits of plasticard and the tops of Thor's boots. But, the the only way to stop Thor's boots bending the collar out of shape was to superglue it onto the figure...

... which meant sewing and fitting a body suit onto the figure first , then fixing and milliputting the collar in place (over a outfitted Hulk wrapped in cellophane). And only once when that was done could I start on sculpting Thanos' head (... and after all that the collar piece didn't quite work as I wanted; I'd hoped that the boot pieces would point upwards and not lie horizontal).

Had to trim the Hulk's head down a lot; mostly the hair, to get it proportioned correctly for Thanos. It took a good 3 hours to sculpt (and while the Hulk has a good snarl, his mouth is not wide enough for Thanos'). Also added knuckle-dusters to his hands with bits of milliput and pieces of flat plastic cord.

My Thanos has no feet - the boots fit snuggly enough over the Hulks legs to stay on tight. His belt is made from craft foam, cuffs, shorts, strapping and trim from gold PVC - all the gold sections were painted over with Citadel Colour's acrylic Gold paint - don't worry if, when you use it, it looks horrible and inspid when it first goes on; it dries to a lovely gold tone.
